In mid-2007, Paragon Care announced that the company would pursue new opportunities that would fundamentally change its business structure and direction. After extensive analysis, the directors identified the aged and health care markets as offering excellent growth opportunities.
The company is positioning itself to be a key provider of specialist products and niche in these markets, which are growing strongly due to the ageing of the population, rising consumer expectations about the quality of service delivery and increasing government spending.
Paragon Care has five operating businesses:
AxisHealth supplies durable equipment to hospitals, medical centres and aged care facilities;
Iona Medical provides quality home care, nursing and medical products;
Volker Australia with world class beds and furniture;
Rapini premier supplier of medical refrigerators, storage systems and service carts;
GM Medical
The company has identified significant opportunities for consolidation and geographic expansion and will continue to seek suitable investments or businesses that are complementary to the existing operations and further enhance its product and service offering to the health and aged care market.
