New ThermiVa Non-Invasive Vaginal Rejuvenation Procedure

A new, non-invasive, vaginal rejuvenation procedure, ThermiVa, is now available in Australia and New Zealand, and it offers women a safer and cheaper alternative to surgery.

Prominent Sydney urogynaecologist, Dr Oscar Horky, performed the first ThermiVa procedure in Australia in April this year and is very excited to introduce this technology.

Dr Horky has trained under Dr Red Alinsod, the inventor of this device in Laguna Beach, California.

Commenting on the release of ThermiVa, Dr Oscar Horky, Cosmetic Vaginal Surgeon, said “ever since working with the world authority Dr Red Alinsod in the USA, I have eagerly awaited TGA approval and the extraordinary benefit of this technology”.

“Radiofrequency has been used for many years in the cosmetic industry.  It is safe and reliable.  The same applies in the genital area where its special ability to increase blood flow and collagen production can result in non-surgical cure of stress incontinence, vaginal rejuvenation and non-surgical labiaplasty.  Women are amazed by the results”

What is ThermiVa?

Childbirth and the natural aging process cause changes which may affect feminine wellness. A particularly strenuous vaginal childbirth, multiple births, and the effects of menopause can cause physical changes which can rob women (and their partners) of their sense of well-being and happiness.

The ThermiVa procedure is the first non-surgical means to tighten loose vaginal skin—including both the outer labia and inner vaginal canal. It helps to not only restore the look and feel of the vagina, but also with problems such as incontinence and lack of sexual pleasure due to laxity in the vaginal canal.

ThermiVa has several very compelling advantages over traditional surgical approaches—most importantly, no-downtime, no cutting or scarring and no traditional surgical risks such as bleeding and infection.

A recent study of 23 patients reported:1

  • Significant improvement in laxity
  • Significant improvement in cases of atrophic vaginitis (n=5), stress urinary incontinence (n=5), orgasmic dysfunction (n=6)
  • Notable improvement in cases of atrophic vaginitis (n=5), stress urinary incontinence (n=5), orgasmic dysfunction (n=6)
  • Ability to resume all activities the same day including intercourse
